I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the year so far. How quick is it going!?
I was reading an article someone posted on Facebook today and it was something along the lines of '20 things women shouldn't have to justify'.
One of them I couldn't agree with more. And that is how much we eat, whether it be little or a lot.
Prepare for a rant.
It made me think of something someone once said to me. And if you are reading this, I hope the next time you visit a hairdresser, she makes you as ugly as your personality :)
So one day I was hanging out with a friend at her house, and she had invited over this other girl that I knew but didn't ever have much to do with. Anyways I was cooking dinner for everyone, and I was making ravioli (a type of pasta). I served it out into bowls and the other girl said "wow there is tonnes, I'll never eat all that". And I was like "oh that's no problem for me, I love pasta!". To which she replied "oh, so that's why you aren't skinny".
Firstly, I don't care that this was like 8 years ago, I still think you are a cow and I continue to hold this grudge. Secondly, I feel sorry for you that you were brought up to believe looking like a stick makes you attractive as a woman. And thirdly, if I can't say what my favourite food is because I'm a girl and I have to supposedly focus my whole life around being skinny, then I choose to be overweight.
I love food. I love cooking. I love seeing other people enjoy the food I have made. And if that's unattractive then I have no problem being a member of the chubby wubby fat club.
So I guess not only is this a message about gender stereotyping, but it's also about being a decent person and thinking about what u say before you say it. :)
End rant. Xx
I agree with you. Sometimes think before you speak or you may hurt or anger someone.
