So bummed!
Here is a little update on how my new diet and exercise routine has been after a week.
I am loving the exercise!
Who knew I would!? I have done 6 hours worth of exercise this week. I think it is such a difference actually doing it in an air conditioned gym haha. I'm very proud of being able to self motivate and actually being able to commit to doing it. Considering I went from doing zero exercise to this, it is a big deal. I can feel a change in my legs. They feel stronger, tighter and of course sore haha. I reached my first running goal, a kilometre. Which is nothing for a lot of people but I was so unfit I really thought I wouldn't be able to do it. Aiming for 2km in the next few weeks.
The healthy eating wasn't too bad. I did have two 'normal' dinners that were a bit naughty. But one was for my birthday so I can let that slide. I've managed to stick to high protein foods and I reluctantly have cut out the white pasta and most of the bread I had been eating. Oh and no drinks except for water and I cut out full fat dairy.
Another huge thing for me was saying no to one of my favourite foods ever, shallot pancakes. Which makes me even more annoyed to tell you what I am about to tell you.
So today is weigh day, was very excited to see some results from the hours of work I had put in and the many cravings I managed to ignore. And I hopped on the scales and was only 650g lighter...
Those shallot pancakes I passed up would not have made a difference. That cheese I wanted in my salad would have made it perfect. But no... I said no, I stayed committed. FOR 650g!?!?!?
Gahhh. So annoyed. So I am having some naughty vegemite toast on WHITE bread with MARGARINE. and will start this week new. Really hope to see some change in the scales next Monday.

Hey Sarah, it's Macca
ReplyDeleteI just read this post, I don't usually comment but I can't let this go.
Losing 650g in the first week is REALLY GOOD!!
Shows like the biggest loser are very unrealistic because every aspect of their regime is monitored constantly. The fact that you got a significant loss by yourself is fantastic. To see big changes you really need to keep going for at least a month, but as you have found out, it gets easier and more enjoyable the longer you do it. So keep at it, try to lose weight for health reasons instead of body image, and any loss is good loss.
Hey Macca thanks for commenting :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I am feeling better about it now. The exercise is good, but the healthy eating has been a struggle for me. So I just have to try and be good lol. I am not technically overweight but I am on the edge so I just want to get fit really, and then naturally fall back into the centre of the spectrum. Thanks for reading and I shall indeed keep at it :)
