Now I am absolutely loving my blog. But for some reason I am already starting to run out of ideas. UH OH! But thankfully I have just come up with a new idea for a series of blogs. Every time I am stuck for ideas on what to write, I shall write an embarrassing story that has either happened to me or one of my friends (I shall keep it anonymous if it is about a friend). God knows I have endless amounts of these stories and doesn't everyone like reading about someone making a fool of themselves? I know I do.
Well here is number one, starring me.
Once a year Australia has a week dedicated to awareness on the need for child protection. Each day is a little different and focuses on different aspects of child protection. I decided it would be a good opportunity to make an announcement at school to make some of the other students have a bit of a think about safety etc.
The day I decided to get up and make this announcement, also happened to be an assembly that was one of the first that the new headmistress attended. This meant that it was compulsory for every student and staff member to be present. Over 1000 attendants.
This particular day of child protection week was awareness regarding sexual assault. So I got up and started making the announcement. Saying things like, "make sure you are safe during the summer party season" (it was the end of the year and I was graduating very soon). So I had said all I had gotten up to say, was feeling happy about how it went, and so to finish off I intended to say "Stay safe and keep it in your prayers." But no. I said it as, and the school heard it as, "Stay safe and keep it in your pants".
Not realising what I had said I was rather offended that the school was in hysterics at my rather serious announcement. It wasn't until later that someone told me what my mistake was. A younger student even told me that I was her hero.
I couldn't look the ministers in the eyes after that. Luckily I only had one week left of school.
Sigh...

Ha! Classic. Sweet blog, I've been on and off with mine, getting back into it now. PS: Had to use milk powder while making a pie and it made me think of that school camp.
