A salute to food

Can you imagine a life without food...?
The main elements of Christmas, birthdays, halloween etc would be forever ruined.
Nothing quite beats ordering in some pizza or chinese food and watching a movie with your boyfriend or friends.

Being a vegetarian can definitely make things quite difficult. Constantly having to read packaging for hidden animal parts and having to ask waiters in restaurants what exactly is in the sauce gets tiring. But that has never hindered my love of fooooood! Not only do I love eating food but I love the challenge of cooking it too.

The little masterpiece above was one of my best accomplishments (if I do say so myself). Yes I can only eat half of the dish.. but seeing my family really enjoy the chicken made me very happy :)

If all this wasn't enough as it is, I also love watching cooking shows. Anything from Jamie Oliver to My Kitchen Rules. My family don't tend to enjoy these shows as much as I do... they do however enjoy the result of my attempts at making the same dishes.

My younger brother likes to pretend he is excited about it all. As seen with the poor chicken in the fry pan. Bless him lol.

One thing I find though, is that I am too impatient when it comes to desserts. I don't enjoy waiting when things are in the oven for long periods of time. I want to be doing something. Tasting something. Chopping. Frying. Not sitting there willing my cupcakes to rise...

I do however enjoy eating desserts. Which brings us to the amazingness of high tea. Who doesn't love high tea?
The local one me and my lovely lady friends tend to visit is great quality and reasonably priced. You get a glass of champagne on arrival, hot food, your tray of goodies and either tea or coffee from a wide selection. If you find one of these little gems, why not make it a regular thing for you and your friends to do together? Something different. And delicious.

Anywho, I think you get my point. Food is one of the most enjoyable parts of life. That may be a sad thing. But it makes me oh so happy. What's wrong with that? ;) xx
